I've had this idea for a bit. Derek is a king set to marry an evil witch ( either Kate or Jennifer) who is only after the glory of his kingdom. Derek knows she means to kill him after she has his heir, so he enters the forest to find a Rumpelstiltskin like deity who will take his firstborn child. He meets Stiles and he's like, sure, that's my gig. But Derek phrases the bargain in such a way that Stiles bears his firstborn. Stiles, of course, saves Derek from being poisoned by the witch in the end. I see it ending with Derek promising to give half his kingdom to Stiles in order to repay him. Stiles is like, sure, how will you manage that? Then Derek proposes and they live happily ever after.

Derek baby trapping Stiles... I'm cackling but I love it 💗🤭 bonus point if Derek knew about Stiles for a while and had a giant crush on him, like I'm talking the yearning kind.

And then Derek goes off the deep end (because of the pressure of the heir and the prospect of loveless cruel marriage), and he just longs for comfort. He goes to Stiles, and he knows it's bad what he's about to do, but he just doesn't care. He wants Stiles, wants to have this bond with him forever. Derek is ready to beg and bribe but to his surprise Stiles agrees to everything (he's been watching the wolf king for a while, pining fro afar).

They fuck, and don't stop fucking, each consumed by their desire to trap each other (they love it, and they hate that they love it). And Stiles kills Derek's fiancée in a jealous fit, because he abhors the idea of Derek belonging to someone else. He is just about to run, when Derek finds him and then traps Stiles for real, not letting him go. What Stiles didn't expect was the relief on Derek's face. Relief, mixed with hunger for him and elation for their joined future

I'm actually not to sure, Anon! He's actually the one I know the least about if that makes sense. If I had to guess I would lean towards "no" but I would also be a little delusionally devastated 😅. Ever since I met dnp in person I’ve felt this strange sense of loss. It felt like I wasn’t supposed to be there. Dan did a fake laugh like 4 times and then Phil just looked exhausted. I felt .. bad for them? Like maybe a 100 people went before me- it must be super exhausting.

I know it's not the typical experience that gets passed around, but I honestly think what you experience is pretty real and it's definitely one reason I don't take any emotional attachment away from meet and greets. I think some people do and I'm happy for them and I definitely am not invalidating any of those experiences - it's honestly more about how you feel than how they feel.

But I'm the kind of person who loves passively observing them so the observations I have during meet and greets ends up being pretty similar to what you described. Dan copes with the social awkwardness by having a script in his head that involves compliments, fake laughs, and saying the same thing to everyone. The voice he uses is so jarringly not a normal Dan voice that I almost want to shush him when I hear it. I think Phil actually does approach meet and greets with a slightly more genuine demeanor but that means when he's not feeling it or he's exhausted (which in a run of this many shows, I'm sure he was) it's more visible and harder to ignore.

They really are just two dudes you don't know and who don't know you. But in my experience, the parasocial affection will return as you watch them. Because they're still the same guys you loved going into it - you just had a bit of a peek behind the curtain. For me, what I feel parasocial about is how they are to each other, anyway, and that hasn't changed.

Random VG positivity!

The voice acting in this game was great and this is the first time I’ve used the American VAs for the protag and I genuinely loved them both! American male voice is SUCH a goober but he really delivered towards the end game when he was in full on FUCK SOLAS mode. Genuinely felt like my Rook was falling apart because he lost all that quippiness due to Minrathous being on fire, dealing with the pain of finding out Varric was dead, Solas’ everything, and Neve (who was my LI) being presumed dead. He genuinely felt angry and exhausted but had no time to break down and just let rage fuel him. And reuniting with your lost LI just. Ahhhh I loved the voice acting for Rook so much!!!

Hi dear! I have a question that is out of pure curiosity

I've seen a couple of posts about permanent shifting, and it sort of spooked me and intrigued me at the same time...? Like. The implications of permanent shifting are such a complex concept for my brain to grasp, and forgive me for the rambling but-

Let's say a person does shift permanently. What would happen to their physical body in this reality? Because I know there's a lot of things at stake, like family, friends maybe a job or something?

Is permashifting safe? It's been plaguing my brain even though I have no intention at all of doing so, but it got me wondering! Because if it was me, I'd be very worried about the things I have going on in this reality, y'know? What if I permashift and it goes right, but then what? Does my body get old in this reality as I'm living my life in another? and maybe even what if someone comes looking for me and I simply don't wake up because my consciousness is in another reality?

Again, sorry for rambling, I just really wanted to talk about it with someone :) and I mean no harm to people who consider permashifting too, this is 100% out of curiosity

About the love and deepspace Fandom being homophobic, I saw a lot of girls on tiktok yelling how it's a woman only game. Like there was one tiktok where a trans guy made Mc more mascule looking (and wished they could change the pronouns of the mc I think) and the comments were so nasty it's insane. Like I get it, they want their game but to straight up call someone slurs because they wanted to play the game and not feel dysphoria is insane

I just want to put in my two cents on the whole band identity thing since stuff is going around atm: As far as I am aware, please feel free to correct me if I am wrong, Vessel and the rest of the band have never explicitly stated that the masks are supposed to hide their identities for safety purposes.

Vessel said in that Metal Hammer interview that music is pushed based on who or who isn’t in a band, and that their identities are unimportant. To me, this says that their masks are a form of commentary against the popularity contest/politics within the modern music industry.

Not doxxing/harassing/doing other harmful behaviors to the band members should be the bare minimum and common sense, but of course, people have shown us and the band otherwise and I understand that has made some within the fandom become even more protective/vigilant with information related to the identities in the band.

That being said, I personally don’t see any issue with knowing who they are if you want to know and it shouldn’t be looked down on within the fandom. I think there can be a respectful divide between those who know and those who don’t want to. I found out by accident, but knowing what I know has given me a much deeper appreciation for Sleep Token in all of its iterations in a way I don’t think I would have gotten to otherwise.

I think some fans feel as though they’re betraying the band by knowing their identities and I disagree with that level of stigma. I can’t imagine any of the guys being offended about their fans looking into past projects/bands they’ve been involved in, and having huge support from all of us if one or more members decided to do a solo feature for another band would be incredible!

In my opinion, I think we need to reframe how their identities are handled within the fandom at large: they’re not in witness protection, they just prefer for their audience to put the majority of their focus on the music instead of the people playing it. It’s obvious that Vessel takes great pride in his craft and, based on the MH interview, it seems like his main goal here is to have his music speak for itself instead of becoming another soulless corporate shill. Just something for all of us to consider and I’d love to know your thoughts as well.

So sorry it took a few days to respond to this ask. I wanna be a little less subjective to give you a platform, Anon, but you are correct in the fact that Vessel and the band never said their anonymity was explicitly for safety (although there’s a valid argument that that is a given assumption, as you also stated).

If needed for context, the quote from the Amped Up Kerrang Article (idk if you meant this article, Anon, or if Ves said something in one of the Metal Hammer ones and I forgot; lmk in another ask or dm and i’ll add to this post):

“Art has become entangled with identity,” Him says of the band’s anonymity. “The aim is to provide something people can engage with without being obstructed by the identity of its creator. The true identities behind Sleep Token are irrelevant. Our identity is represented through the art and music itself.”

I do believe their anonymity is both a device for creating more powerful music as well as a clever way to market the band. Humans are naturally curious and we are drawn to mysteries. Its interesting to see how it has morphed into this beast of those who know and those who do not (and those who do know, pretend they do not, and then ostracize those who do know while also creeping in online spaces they should definitely not know about if not knowing identities mattered that much to them). The band’s anonymity has created a fanbase full of toxic interactions that I’m certain they never intended to cause.

I don’t fault any fan for their views, or if they choose to seek out identities or not. I only have a problem with it when views are forced onto others maliciously.
